You can leave it at fiscal and just define your future fiscal years to align with calendar month end dates. Use Fiscal Year Maintenance to change the current fiscal year from 12 to 9 periods with the 9th ending on 12/31/13. You can then define next year with the month end dates. The only thing strange will be the dates defined for each fiscal year. I assume the current fiscal year that ends on 3/31/14 is 2014. You will now have 2014 running from 4/1/13 to 12/31/13. 2015 would then run from 1/1/14 to 12/31/14.
