2015 is upon us, and with it, the Affordable Care Act reporting requirements. As with so many payroll and tax reporting changes, adapting to new regulation can be a confusing experience so let’s take a look at the ways Sage 100 will be supporting these requirements. *CRITICAL* : Make sure that you have enabled Perpetual History reporting in the payroll module. In order for the ACA reporting to pull your Payroll data correctly you MUST select to Retain Perpetual Payroll History in Payroll Options prior to processing your first payroll in 2015. Please do or verify the following before processing your first payroll in 2015 : Open Payroll, Setup, Payroll Options On the Main tab, select Retain Perpetual History Click Accept Note: This will need to be done for each Company Code requiring ACA reporting. As the form requirements have not been fully finalized by the IRS, our current plan is to release a product update for Payroll in approximately March/April, 2015 for Sage 100 ERP versions 4.50, 2013(5.0) and 2014(5.1) only . At this time we anticipate that the update will include the following: New Crystal Report to help you determine if you qualify as an Applicable Large Employer (ALE) that is required to report on your compliance with the ACA. Currently, companies with 100+ full time and full-time equivalent employees will be required to file a report in January, 2016 (for Tax Year 2015) and companies with 50+ full time and full-time equivalent employees will be required to file a report in January, 2017 (for Tax Year 2016). This report will provide options to report on the total number of employees, the number of full time employees, the number of full time equivalents (FTE), and the average number of hours worked by employee (per calendar month). The report will pull data stored in the perpetual history file (PR_23). New interface screens that will be accessible from a new Payroll menu task or from within Employee Maintenance, for entry or import of the employee, employee's dependent(s) and health insurance offering data required on the forms. Regardless of whether the employee has accepted your offer of coverage, monthly detail of the offer must be tracked for reporting purposes. *Please see Knowledgebase article 48622 for screenshots of these anticipated changes. The new regulations have been daunting and a little overwhelming for many users I've spoken to, so be sure to regularly check our dedicated ACA page at http://sagecity.na.sage.com/aca/ for further updates to our support of the Affordable Care Act!
