I'm not saying this is the best feature ever, but it is working as designed. You only get one option to run the DTR at the end of posting a transaction journal or register. I think the intent was to keep you from picking up other batches DTR's in yours. So one step in month end close should be to randomly run a DTR from GL to see if anything was sitting there half posted.
