Forum Post: Access ODBC database link

Hello all, My question is, I usually export data from SOTAMAS90 via ODBC database through MS Access.  Usually, I just select "Import the source data into a new table in the current database."  Recently, I noticed a 2nd check box in that screen which is "Link to the data source by creating a linked table".  My questions are: 1) I am assuming this keeps a live link between the Access Table I created and the Table from SOTAMAS90 database?  Am I correct that this creates a live link and will be updated in real-time?  Everytime I open up this Access Table it should have live updated data without me having to reimport the data? 2) Second question is, if the above is true, and I accidentally make a change to the Table I've exported in Access, does this reflect back into the SOTAMAS90 database or is this table protected as a "read-only" type of file?  Hopefully it is, as I do not want to make any changes in the MAS database through Access. Can someone please let me know?  Thank you!
